It was the pickleball courts of Santa Monica that set the stage for a love story as lively and unexpected as the game itself. Christian and Rachael both arrived as individuals, but they left the court destined to become a duo. They may have started at 0-0-2, but it wasn’t long before they realized they were playing for something much greater than points.
Christian’s curiosity and inventive mind matched perfectly with Rachael's sharp wit and eternally positive outlook on life. Their first game together was filled with playful rallies and laughter, and as they chatted after the match, the sparks were undeniable.
When Christian, the self-proclaimed "Tea Tycoon," had to leave, he left behind a business card instead of a pickleball. That simple, goofy gesture was just what Rachael had hoped for—a sign that she’d met someone who was charmingly different.
Taking a page from Christian's book on confidence, Rachael made the first move with a voice message, steering clear of texts. Christian, who always admired confidence and the thrill of a real conversation, was smitten.
